The Problem:
Digital privacy is important for everyone, but not everyone makes it a priority due to a high barrier to entry when it comes to cleaning up your digital footprint because everyones data is everywhere. I co-designed Reclaim: a web app that scans your inbox, tells you what companies have your information, what information they have, if you’ve been in a data breach, and what to do about it.
Define Phase
In this phase, I conducted 2 major UX research activities that helped inform our designs. requirements from PM were continuing to be written, and technical spikes were in motion. I conducted product naming surveys internally, and wrote prompts for the OpenAI API
Card Sorting: Footprint Data Hierarchy
This survey consisted of participants ranking cards with all the SDK data we could provide them about a company that had their information. I used Maze to recruit and run the test, and crafted a quick synthesis to send to my PM and help record next steps.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of my departure from Anonyome Labs, I don’t have too much of my research artifacts, screen grabs, or synthesis documents.

Final designs aligned with card sorting results to establish valuable hierarchy

User Survey: Instruction Formatting
This survey aimed to understand how we want to format our deletion and protection instructions based on what format is easiest to understand from our users.
I crafted designs that had 5 steps, 10 steps, sub steps, and checklist options. After synthesis, I decided that 10 simple steps was the best option, I implemented the formatting into our open ai API prompts, and marked this as something to validate in future usability testing.

Three options that were tested with users.
